About:
This add-on merges consecutive posts created by the same user within a specified time frame.
Merged post content is divided by a configurable text tag.

Features:

• Works with both XenForo 1.1.x, 1.2.x, 1.3.x, and 1.4.x
• Based on user group permissions*.
• Time limit within which all double posts will get merged.
• Time limit after which double posts "bump" the thread marking it as un-read and all watched thread alerts get sent out.
• Option to set a message length limit beyond which a post will not be double merged.
• Option to exempt the thread author from the double post merge when submitting the second post of the thread, either permanently or within X minutes.
• Option to include the original post date when a merge 'bumps' the thread for the first time.
• Quote alerts go out whenever the merging post includes a quote.
• Username Tag alerts go out whenever the merging post includes a tag (XF 1.2 or newer only).
• Thread and Forum watch alerts go out whenever the merging post 'bumps' the thread (XF 1.2 or newer only).
• Optional divider tag includes a time stamp and is fully configurable via the style properties.

* Since permissions are prioritized highest to lowest, depending on your user group hierarchy, you may need to create and assign a secondary user group that specifically includes the Double Post time limits. Simply set all Double Post limits on your primary groups to zero and then assign the new secondary group to desired primary groups.

Please Note:

• Double posts do not count towards the user's total post count.
• Posts will NOT get merged when:
  • Posts in that forum are moderated.
  • Attachments, images, or media in the double post will bring the merged post above the per post set limit for such items.
• Uninstalling this add-on does not remove the text tag which is added to the merged posts.
• Unless you use a simple line break to separate the two merging posts, the text tag can be edited by the posting user and thus potentially cause the tag to display incorrect info or even cause it to not work at all.

Installation:

1. Upload the folder 'Upload/library/DoublePost' to your 'library' folder on your server
2. From within your admin control panel, install the included .xml file ('addon-doublepost_109.xml')
3. From within your admin control panel's 'Home' tab, click 'Options' and select 'Double Post Merge'. Here you may set the divider text that will be displayed in-between two merged posts. To further customize the look of the text (such as right or left placement, or background colour), please navigate to the style properties page where you will find a few CSS options.
4. From within your admin control panel's 'Users' tab, click 'User Group Permissions'. Select the user group you wish to assign double post control. There are two permission that need to be set and both are located in their own section named 'Double Post Merge':
   • Double Post Merge time limit (minutes) - beyond this limit the post will not be merged, Unlimited = always merge, Zero = never merge
   • Double Post thread bump limit (minutes) - beyond this limit, the thread will be marked as un-read and thread watch alerts will be sent out, Unlimited = always bump, Zero = never bump
5.
